| Système Home Cinéma 5.1 |
|
Speaker positioning in a 5.1 system requires careful attention in order to obtain a balanced overall sound without having to compromise.
The main speakers should be placed on either side of the screen, in positions similar to those used in 2.0 or 2.1 setups.
The central speaker should be placed in line with the two, main front speakers, either above or below the screen. If you are using a projection screen, it is better to place the central speaker below the screen.
The rear-channel speakers should be placed along the lateral walls, slightly higher than the main speakers and just behind the main listening area. This will provide better sound distribution.
If the 'ideal' setup is not possible, you will have to compensate by adjusting the levels of each channel on your audiovisual amplifier.
The subwoofer should be placed in line with the main speakers, near a wall or in a corner in order to enhance the low frequency output.
Make sure that there is a distance of at least 50 cm between the subwoofer and the television in order to avoid electro-magnetic interference from the speaker magnet.
