Question 1 : Magnetic shielding

The magnets in loudspeakers create electro-magnetic fields that can interfere with conventional televisions. This phenomenon does not occur with plasma and LCD screens.

In order to avoid this interference, all the magnets in a speaker can be magnetically shielded. Some of our loudspeakers come with magnetic shielding as standard and all our models can be shielded on request. Feel free to contact us should you require any further information on this subject.

Question 2 : Decoupling spikes

Decoupling spikes are designed to reduce the area of contact between the speaker and the surface on which it is placed. The idea is to limit the transmission of vibrations that cause unwanted resonance. Fitting decoupling spikes to your loudspeakers will result in more punch and precision in the bass frequencies.

Question 3 : Bi-wiring

Bi-wiring your speakers will provide clearer and more precise sound reproduction. The method consists of using two separate cables from the amplifier to each speaker - one for the low frequencies and the other for the medium and high frequencies. Before bi-wiring, remember to remove the shorting links between the high and low frequency terminals on your speakers and keep them for possible, later use. Bi-wiring provides a separate earth for each unit and helps eliminate the interference caused by the movement of the low frequency driver.

Question 4 : Choosing your amplifier

In general, we recommend the use of an amplifier of at least 100 watts per channel with our loudspeakers. This gives you plenty of power in reserve and provides better listening comfort at low levels. An amplifier should not be used at more than half volume, as this will result in distortion that can damage your speakers. Less powerful amplifiers that nonetheless have a high current capacity, may also be suitable.
