| Advice on how to set up a stereophonic system

Correct positioning of your speakers is essential in order to obtain perfect stereo imaging and avoid unwanted resonance. For best results, your speakers should form an equilateral triangle with the listening area (fig. A). Take care not to place any objects such as furniture between the speakers and the listener.
The distance between the speakers should not be too great as this will result in the loss of some of the stereo imaging.
Floorstanding speakers should always be placed at the same height and bookshelf speakers should be placed so that the tweeter is at ear-level. Placing speakers too close to walls or the floor will seriously affect their balance, so make sure there is a gap of at least 30-40cm between the speakers and the surrounding walls. Placing a speaker directly against a wall will increase low frequencies by 3 dB. Placing a speaker in the corner of the room will increase low frequencies by 6 dB (Fig. B).
Connecting your speakers is extremely simple. Strip about 10 cm of the end of the cable, unscrew the binding posts, insert the cable into the hole in the binding post and re-tighten the binding post.
Make sure that you respect the polarity of each speaker by connecting the (+) connection of the speaker to the (+) connection of the amplifier and the (-) connection of the speaker to the (-) connection of the amplifier.
